BodyCombat 41
The theme for BodyCombat 41 is 'Backyard Brawl'. Numa Numa (also in BodyAttack 66), in a O-Zone (Dragostea Din Tei) remix, will prepare you for the workout ahead starting the upper body warm up with a jab, cross and bob combo. Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You take cares of the lower body with a back kick in the warm up.
The first combat starts with a treble elbow and double knee combo, just think on We Will Survive from BC 37 this time on Music Is Pumpin by Radical Rhythm.
Track 3 is all about the contrast between speed and power, Slow & Steady Rush by Random Attack, a remix of Faith Hill’s Breathe
As a usual format since BodyCombat 37, track 4 has an intermezzo. It starts with Enter Sandman by Spock, and features a new move a double handed plyo push followed by a push kick. In the intermezzo (P.O.D’s Boom ) the track continues with a ginga – knee combination, to build up via a ginga - side kick combo to the ginga – evasive side kick. This gives you the feeling of two totally different workouts. It’s an opportunity to show what you’ve got, ready or not! As for the evasive side kick it always gives mixed feelings, it is an impressive kick to see, but difficult to perform. For this reason Dan decided to modified the e-kick as he feels that not everyone could jump that high while doing the kick. So it's just a little hop instead of a super high jump that was used to do previously.
Flush your legs and spike your heart rate in track 5 with three rounds of boxing, running is the keyword, as you will do a lot of running forward and back. Ballroom Blitz is featuring again in this release, as it is recycled form BodyCombat 6. The chorey is not a brain training, quite similar to Tutti Fruitti of BC 40.
Tae Kwon Do is in the house in track 6. For the ladies imagine you just went summer sale shopping and your both hands are full with bags. Four opponents appear . . . you don’t put this expansive bags just on the floor do you ? No, you fight them with your legs ! With the secret being to strike like a cobra. Similar to Shut Up and Drive from BC 34 but this time a side kick, knee, back kick and another knee (instead of the step in BC 34). I’m pretty sure you will entertain them on Robbie Williams’ Let Me Entertain You.
Track 8, the wall of fatigue which you can’t go over, you can’t go under it, … you just have to punch through it ! Cascada is back again, to take down the house during this last power track, with What Do You Want From Me … answer: to give everything, the sky is not the limit go beyond it !
For those who are doing BodyPump 71 and BodyAttack 66 the next song will be very familiar for the next few months. Here in BodyCombat, Flo Rida feat. Kesha will spin you Right Round while your abs are blasted with a lot of circle sit-ups.
The well deserved cooling down by Beyonce's Halo has a new stretch called the downward dog which focuses more on the hamstrings and the back of the legs.

BodyCombat 40 - Sizzler and tracklist
Celebrate 10 years of your favorite Martial Arts-inspired program with BODYCOMBAT® 40! A great mix of Martial Arts disciplines will ensure you’re challenged both physically and mentally with a larger variety of Strikes and Blocks to really keep you on your toes. There’s a great mix of old and new styles of music with a couple of bring-backs, a nod to the past and a hint of the future.By the time you reach Track 2, you’ll have experienced Kick-boxing, Karate and Tae Kwon Do, and you’ll be ready to pull out your best Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan impersonations to I Know Kung-Fu. The Boxing ring beckons in Track 3 before your legs are challenged in Track 4 with three conditioning blocks – first the Kick KATA followed by the Esquiva, then the Jump Kick is unleashed. Let loose and have fun in Track 5 with Tutti Fruitti but don’t be fooled by the sing along nature of the song – you’ll be firing up the energy and throwing some power shots. Refocus your technique and re-center in Track 6 to Nickelback’s Burn It To The Ground before the onslaught that is Track 7. Speed by name, speed by nature – you’ll be unleashed in the Descending Elbow Sequence. There’s one goal in Track 8 and that’s to completely empty the tank – you’ll punch until you can’t punch any more. In Track 9 there’s a new move – the Komodo Dragon. It’ll challenge your core to the max but fear not – recovery is near with soft KATAs to Kings Of Leon’s hit Use Somebody. Stay with the fight!

BodyCombat 40 - 10 years
Thanks to Glen and Raina:
It is obvious from the start that this release is all about one big combat party! Presenters were Dan and Rach, Hernan and Tanya Walker from the UK.
Overall Glen really enjoyed this release - a lot more than he enjoyed BodyCombat 39. The complexity is a little higher than in BC39 (well, that wouldn’t be hard at all!), but again we have no evasive side kicks, no jump knees and no gingas.
The esquiva is back - and unusually it’s in track 4 (which means all you esquiva fans could do two esquiva tracks per class when you start mixing). Track 4 is a rock track with an esquivas/lunge/jump kick combo on the right hand side, which then goes into tubthumping in the middle - before going back into the rock track for the esquiva combo on the left (think a la We Will Survive from BC37).
Highlight for Glen is track 6 (and that’s odd because track 6 is usually one of his least favs) - there is a really cool side kick kata. Track 5 is great too - tonnes of performance opportunities with the Tutti Fruitti "a-whap-bap-ba-loo-bap a-whap-bam-boo!" (with everyone in the room throwing their arms up on the "BOO!") - felt a little like BodyAttack but heck that’s forgivable in a track 5. There are loads of jump jabs going forward and shuffling back.
The Muay Thai is probably the only track that perhaps is a little disappointing, the song is good ("Speed" - no idea who it is by but could be Nick Skitz or similar) but the chorry is d-u-l-l. It is literally just knees and descending elbows (addition - there are some streetbrawler downward punches in as well). Glen found it one of the easiest Muay Thais he has done (if not the easiest).
No crunches in the conditioning track again (weird two releases in a row) but again we have the hover and a new move the "komodo dragon" (think press up position bringing your knee to elbow, sounds to me like the upper body condition sometimes done in the BodyAttack).
Cool down is beautiful (with a lovely song "Use Somebody") and there are some great soft kata's to lower the heartrate. Fantastic end to the workout.
Overall, a great release. Nothing new (save the komodo dragon), nothing revolutionary but a decent workout and not totally basic chorry as was the case with BC39. The release is definitely not as hard as BC38 nor BC37 for example - no killer kick katas with 200 or more kicks but I think a solid release.
Preliminary tracklist:
1a: Layla (Caribbean Mix) - DJ U Hey vs DJ Minagawa from Skitzmiz 30
1b: Hot n Cold - Katy Perry
2: I Know Kung Fu - Shitdisco
3: Sweetheart (Squad-E Remix) - Rezonance-Q from Hardcore Til I Die
4: Is a mix of one rock track I don’t recall, then Tubthumping by Chumbawamba, then back to the original song
5: Tutti Frutti - Little Richard
6: Burn It To The Ground - Nickelback
7: A techno track called "Speed it up"
8: Set you free - N-trance
9: Let it Rock - Kevin Rudolf
10. Use Somebody - Kings of Leon

BodyCombat 39 - Sizzler and tracklist
Picture yourself fighting one-on-one in the cage – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) style – and that’s BODYCOMBAT™ 39. You’re going to learn the skills you need to hang on until the last round so get ready for some combo-heavy tracks and lots of repetition. To get a taste of an authentic UFC you’re going to need to get warmer faster as ultimate fighters are among some of the fittest athletes in the world. So that’s what the Warmup is all about, with a focus on keeping light on your feet.
Get ready for one of the longest combos ever seen in a Power Training Track in Track 3 – can you believe there are 16 Punches in a row? The power for the huge combo comes from the core of your body and motivation from rocking track Come With Me.
Two different types of energy are needed in Track 4. The Knee Combo is fun and light but you’ve gotta be tough during the Back Fist/Side Combo. Scooter vs. Status Quo’s Jump That Rock (Whatever You Want) harnesses the energy perfectly.
There are six solid rounds of identical choreography in Track 5 which also features the Power Squat. Pink’s in the house in Track 6 and you’re gonna want to start a fight during So What. There’s no recovery and you’re trying to knock your opponent out with every punch!
A new move, the Step Over Cross, features in Track 7. This is awesome as it can be used in both an offensive and a countermove situation. Make sure you hold something back for the last 60 seconds of continuous Knee Strikes!
Your muscular endurance is certainly tested in Track 8 where the challenge is to never step out of the intensity. Track 9 is void of conventional Situps and instead uses the Hover and Side Plank to work all of the core muscles. The apt lyrics of Infernal’s I Won’t Be Crying help you through this intense track – even though you might feel like crying by this stage!
01a. The One And Only (Topmodelz Radio Cut) - Mario Lopez
